How to Choose the Best Laundry Perfume for You

The best laundry perfume for you depends on the fragrance you enjoy, the dose you prefer and how it performs in your own washing routine. This is Love for Laundry's buying guide to our range, rather than an independent ranking of competing brands.

Start with the kind of scent you enjoy

Think about the fragrances you already choose for your home or personal perfume. Do you prefer a fresh laundry impression, floral notes, something powdery or a warmer scent? Read individual product descriptions before choosing; a fragrance name is only a starting point.

Our collection includes Cotton Flower, Talc and a range of other Classic and Intense fragrances. Check the current collection for descriptions, sizes and availability.

Try a small format first

The Welcome Kit contains ten 20 ml fragrances from the Classic range. It gives you a way to compare scents before choosing a larger bottle. It does not contain every fragrance in our wider collection.

Compare one scent at a time using a measured dose and similar loads. Notice the fragrance after drying and again when using the fabric, rather than judging only from the open bottle.

Compare cost per wash

Bottle price alone does not tell you how far a concentrate goes. At 5 ml per wash, a 250 ml bottle provides approximately 50 washes; at 10 ml it provides approximately 25. Divide the price you pay by the number of washes at your chosen dose. Read our bottle size and cost-per-wash guide.

Understand what it does

Laundry perfume adds fragrance and does not replace detergent. Love for Laundry uses micro-encapsulation to release fragrance again through movement and use. Our stated longevity of up to 12 weeks refers to storage; it is not a promise of equally strong fragrance after 12 weeks of wear or repeated washing.

Check suitability and instructions

Read the product label and fabric care label before use. Choose your dose within the recommended 5–10 ml range. Product suitability is individual: fragrance preferences and sensitivities vary.
